Teacher Aide Vacancies


We currently have permanent (part-time, term-time only) teacher aide positions available, for the start of the school year in January 2026, where you will work across a range of contexts in the school as part of our learning support department.

At the college we have a number of students who are supported with individualised programmes to access the curriculum. These students may have a variety of significant additional needs (intellectual, emotional, social and physical) and require ongoing support. You may be supporting students alongside both specialist teachers in supported classes and classroom teachers in mainstream classes. 

We also have a number of students for whom learning support happens primarily in mainstream classes and in additional literacy and numeracy targeted programmes. You will work alongside classroom teachers to help students access the curriculum and develop specific skills to help their learning. 

The role falls within Grades B-C of the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement. Further information about the scope of work covered by these positions can be found in the Teacher Aide Work Matrix Table in section 3A.3 of the Collective Agreement.

Extra-curricular Sports Coordinator Vacancies x 2

We currently have 2 permanent, part-time (30hrs per week), term-time only, Extra-curricular Sports Coordinator positions available.

Located in our Sports Office, our Sports Coordinators play a key role in delivering a successful sporting programme at the college and having a positive impact on our students’ experiences. Working closely with the Sports Director you will help to organise, promote and manage a variety of sporting and physical recreation events, teams, coaches, managers and volunteers. These two roles also work closely together, sharing some functions and taking the lead on other areas of responsibility and for some sporting codes which will be allocated in consultation with the Sports Director. 

The Extracurricular Sports Coordinator will:

  • possess excellent people and communication skills, maintaining professionalism in all interactions with students, staff and the public
  • be highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple activities and workload to meet tight deadlines
  • enjoy working with young people and be student-focused in their approach
  • have a vested interest in growing sports, and adding value to the impact on students in participating in sports and recreational activities at college
  • establish and maintain positive relationships with students and their parents, staff, and all volunteers

  • preferably be familiar with and competent in the school administrative systems and Google platform
  • demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism
  • demonstrate cultural intelligence and competence, including an understanding of ngā tikanga Māori
  • hold a current first aid certificate (or be prepared to undergo training to obtain)

Hours worked will need to be flexible at times due to the nature of the role, with some weekend and evening work. The preferred candidates will be required to complete a police vetting check and must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Outdoor and Physical Education Assistant Vacancy

(Fixed term Parental Leave cover)

We have a fantastic opportunity available for someone to work in our Outdoor Education and Physical Education departments for a fixed term parental leave cover for the 2026 school year. This role delivers a range of services that support both teachers and students.  We are looking for someone who has a positive and helpful attitude and who enjoys working with young people. The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience and a strong interest in physical education and New Zealand outdoor education, eg tramping and water sports.

They will also have a sound understanding of risk management and the ability to apply this in a school environment in a wide variety of outdoor and physical education settings.  

This is a part-time position for 37.5 hours per week, term-time only. Some flexibility in the hours worked each week will be required (some weeks a little more, some a little less) and additional hours may be available during our busy times of the year. The ability to stay away occasionally on overnight trips with students is essential.
